Home Decor Vinyl Project

WOW I decided to make a framed vinyl project to give to my step daughter and family. They just got their first house in August and wanted her to have something to hang in her home to remind her of it. It took me four times (LONG too because each time I weeded this and then something went wrong) to get this done. Needless to say my back is killing me!

I had originally pinned this project and decided I would make one. I purchased the font online and I had a real pretty script for the names but it was just to delicate so each time it was ruined when it was cut. I always use blade depth 3, med pressure, med speed. I know others have different settings but when I tried some one's settings it was awful so this is what works for me. It helps to make sure your blade is fairly new because the sharper the better.

I took the picture this evening and the lighting is not great but I'm so tired now that I just don't have it in me to redo this picture tomorrow because I have tons of projects to do!! I received my momenta products and have a mini album planned in the next few days that will take alot of time! I also will be guest designing for Emma Aguilar on Friday so I need to get crack-a-lacking on my project. I'm so thrilled to be asked. So stay tuned for some new projects!

Timeless Twine Guest Designer

I love twine and it was great to be asked to Guest Design for Timeless Twine. Stacy is a great person and she works so hard running her business her self.

I hope you all support Stacy and Timeless Twine as I believe in supporting women business owners and small businesses in general. I once was a business owner and I know alot of my business was based on great customer service and women who also referred friends to me as well. We stayed united in the cause! Here is stacy's store "BellaCreationz" where you can order the wonderful twine.

Stacy sent me three beautiful colors to work with. Her new Strawberry cupcake, Aqua Delight and Strawberry Truffle.

Strawberry Truffle

I wanted to do something "outside the box" with the twine. I love bows and using twine on my cards but I took this as a challenge to utilize it in other ways. My first project (Yes there are 3 total so please keep reading!) is a card. I used a SVG file from SVGCuts (Hula Girl) and then used the strawberry Truffle to wrap around the card to make it look like music paper sorta and placed the music notes on there.

I then glued the twine under a band that you cannot see under the little guitar to make a skirt with it. I made my own sentiment and used coordinating paper. The paper I used was My Minds eye 6x6 Paper stack "Market Street" from the lost and found collections.

NOW on to the second project. I decided on a 12 x 12 layout. I already had in mind what I was going to do so this one played out pretty much like I had planned it. I just wish I knew how to take better pictures of 12 x 12 layouts! The most difficult part of scrapping to me seems to be the photography! Its hard to get the whole thing in the picture, then it becomes far away and you don't get the same effect of the project. The twine I used for this was again the Strawberry truffle on the lion. And then I used the strawberry cupcake  for the lamb/sheep. The SVG files for this was from Treasureboxdesigns. The paper is from a cricut pattern cartridge.

Strawberry Cupcake

But here goes......hopefully it will look good to you. The picture really doesn't do it justice.

The shade on this lamb pic is a bit off, paper is actually like on the lion. The lighting wasn't so good when I took it! The lamb had the strawberry Cupcake twine on it. I love this stuff! My next investment is in a light box!! :)

Last project is another card. I really thought hard about this and actually revamped a SVG file for this one. I didn't use some parts, added some parts and then completely turned the bears around to get the effect that this was the back of a car. I also took some chipboard and made a little license plate! I used my Bonash adhesive and foils to achieve the metal look around the license plate and made some little cans too.

The twine I used for this was "Aqua Delight" Oh how I love thee......
Aqua Delight

I used Aqua Delight, Strawberry truffle and Strawberry cupcake around the card....kind of like the grand finale on a fireworks display I wanted to have a small bit of all the colors on this card. Since I used a cardstock that had the aqua color in it I thought it went really well with this twine. I used kraft cardstock for the bears, the paper is printed from a cricut pattern cartridge. The aqua paper is from DCWV brights paper pad.

(AGAIN! shading is off on these last two pics because I took them in the evening!)

Well I hope you enjoy these projects and get some inspiration on how to use your twine to its fullest~!

Valentines Card

I decided to whip up a quick card (seems I am always rushing for some reason) for Valentines Day. Its very cold and snowy here and I am a bit of a slug today. I have a crock pot going with beef stew, yeast rolls a rising and now getting my craft on.

I used a 6x6 paper stack from My Minds Eye Lost & Found (LOVE THESE PAPER STACKS!) and its called Union Square. The owl is from an SVG file from Myscrapchick. I used some black and white twine and kraft paper (can you ever have enough of this stuff...love it!)

The sentiment is from My Creative Time for me "You had me at Chocolate" and I also used a die and stamp set for the sentiment from Emma as well. Hope you like it!! I know its alot of black and red but hey it doesn't always have to be just pinks for Valentines day (right my bestie!!!)

Creative Time for Me Throwback Thursday

Well I finally got a second to craft after starting a new job because I really missed working. I only intended to work Part time and really part time but they really need my help so now I am smack dab in the thick of running a business again and working more hours than I really wanted. Ok sorry to ramble!!

I wanted to enter this challenge but I don't own any of Emma's sports stamps because I don't have children at home anymore so no need for them. But she said use any cart that has sports related theme. I did use a stamp from one of her older collections "Favorite Sayings" and then a random stamp I had for the little banner flag. I used two different colors of twine for the pom poms (yes I did this on purpose!) I did get a little sloppy with my gelly pen because I NEED NEW GLASSES AND CAN'T SEE!!! I didn't notice how sloppy till I was editing my photo! Well here it goes...good or bad its done!

I used Better Together Imagine cart for the background paper, Everyday paper dolls for the little cheerleader!
