Creative Time for Me Friday Tip of the Day!

HELLO!!! Fellow crafters and lovers of all things Creative Time for me!! Time for another Guest post and Tip of the day!

WOW does the months go by fast! I found this card in the Cardmaker Magazine and knew I had to make it. Boy was it ALOT of work. You have to hand cut alot of the coordinating pieces as the sizes is not listed. Here is a drawing of the piece you need to cut twice and where to score it.

then you of course take one piece and flip it and overlap on the larger end. I know all you crafters can figure it out by looking at the card.

The other little pieces you just cut by figuring them out!! ha ha I would give you the measurements but there are not the normal size and I am not good at all the little marks on a ruler cause ya know I am too busy studying to be a photographer ha ha! I used two different pieces of paper from the same paper stack so i knew it would look good together. If you are using black paper (like I did...learning the hard way) that is textured on one side and not the other pay attention to cut the pieces above to have texture on the same side!

I got the "All around Halloween" set and the new one (WHOOO do I love it) "Treats for My Sweets"

I tried to use only them on most of the images and hand cut them out (Now I am not the best at this) then I just really wanted to add this squiggly wire and put a couple of the images on it too! I have to say I really loved the way it turned out. I LOVE scrapping halloween...its my fav! Its the one day of the year I could actually put the worst (ok my favorite) worn, paint spotched and ripped clothing on, my hair can be a mess and I can be dressed as an old hag housewife!! Actually I did go as that one year with toe socks and slippers, pj's and rollers in my hair. I penciled dark circles around my eyes and a mole! I even took a cigarette and hung it out of my mouth. I would share it but its really bad and I wouldn't want you all to think how ugly and fat is she (cause I know that its not far from the truth...tear streaming down my face!) THIS Girl can't seem to back away from cake, candy or a plate of dumplins! Man the older I get the more I LOVE to eat!

So anywhoooo This is my card!!

I used good old Martha Stewarts drippy goo punch. Martha would be proud.

I also used the Teeny Tiny tag set...LOVE THIS SET...seem to use it always!

TIP OF THE DAY.....

#1- PHOTOGRAPHY....man who would have thought that crafting was going to
require to be a professional photographer!! Well as you all know in the past (well I think
I have gotten better) struggled with my photos. So my tip is to buy a photo tent and lights. My scrap room doesn't have the best lighting and I work during the day so I craft at night and so then taking photos happens during the evening. I purchased this photo tent on ebay for $11 and then I ordered these lights on ebay for $18. WOW how cheap is that right! It seems to make a difference when I am taking photos late!! The photos above I didn't use it on. They came out ok without it cause I actually made them during the daylight but wanted to spook them up with the dark border anyhow. Also another tip is since Picnik closed I have found another site called pic monkey (who comes up with these names?) to use to edit quickly, add borders and cool effects and they even have some cute little graphics you can add to your pictures.

#2- Vintage it up is what I am calling this tip. I like to use twine on alot of my projects and sometimes I want something that looks just a bit old. I just pour some tea in a little bowl and then throw some twine in the bowl and let it sit. Then when it really looks the shade you want take it out and let it dry. Emma did the same thing with ribbon once. You can do it with anything like crochet embellies etc. You could even do it with paper if you wanted to wrinkle up some paper and give it a vintage look soak a piece in some tea. Then while its wet you can crinkle it up a bit and let it dry. Adds alot of dimension and texture to a project.

Giveaway alert...seeing if you are still paying attention! I will be giving away some really cute Halloween Charms to a Follower! You have to leave a comment on this post and on  My Creative Time for Me blog to win. You don't have to be a follower (although it would be nice)

I have been buying TONS of different charms and these halloween ones I have been hoarding saving for the right time to share some of them! I have some really cute ones. Hello kitty, tropical ones as well as these halloween ones. You may get some bonus goodies...who knows! :)

IKEA ALERT........

New product spotlight

I am always looking for ways to use products in my scrap room that were not
intended for it but this is a "coffee table" at IKEA that would be great in a scrap room
if you have limited space like we all seem to have. This is deep enough to set your cricuts or
cutting machines on and what I like about it is that you could easily scoot this underneath
your desk! Pull it out since its on wheels when you are ready to use it!! GENIUS!!! I need one!

$49.99
Man I so need a job at IKEA...:(

Blog Planner for Emma (My Creative Time for Me)

Sweet Sweet Emma from My Creative Time for Me has been so nice to me allowing me to Guest Designing each month. I think she has to be on of the sweetest people I know. She truly cares for her customers, friends. She treats everyone as if they were part of her family and her Design team is AWESOME!!!. I wish I could send each one of them one of these books but my little fat stubby fred flintstone fingers just can't make that many books!! HEE HEE

I had made one for her before but had to scrap it because I ruined it by punching the holes for the binding with my Bind it all wrong. INSERT CHOICE WORDS HERE!!! Well I replaced my BIND IT ALL with a Cinch and lets just say the words that are used in my scrap haven are a little more G rated. Now...I did practice and thought I had it all figured out with what I was doing and I did still make a boo boo but I figured I could live with it and Emma would be ok with it as well. She says there is no mistake in paper crafting....well she may think differently once she looks my book over! I love the Cinch much better but I have to say the bind it all squeezes the binding together much better so there are pro's and con's to both. The pros out weigh the cons for me.

The first book had alot of red because I know she loves red. But when I had to do it all over again I chose to use my Momenta Kaleidoscope paper pack. It is AWESOME paper. The weight of it is like good wallpaper and I love the texture. The colors I knew would all coordinate so it made making it much easier. I used my beautiful Timeless Twine in Aqua. I added a cute "Hello Kitty" charm from "The Charm Store 24/7 on facebook. I cut about 5 of each layer of the Hello kitty and make it almost like a cardboard dimensional sticker you buy (thanks to my friend Leanne for mentioning how to do this!!)

Blog Planner for Miss Emma

Well as you all probably know I do a guest spot on Creative Time for Me each month and a tip of the day. I had made a blog planner for a great friend Jessica (Chick-n-scrap) and I had said i was going to make Miss Emma one also. Well I did do just that and had a cute one done in one of her favorite colors...Red...doody it up real good with some cute little coffee cups from her stamp set and was really all ready to go and then the dreaded binding needed to be done. I put my big girl pants on (ok ok I had them on cause I already have BIG girl pants on) and decided I had this Bind it All and by goodness I needed to learn to use it. Well there was ALOT of bad words and fit throwing going on in the old Bugjuiced craft room at that time because I messed it UP!!!!

SO I had to remake one. And let me tell you it is not a simple task. It is alot of work and so I went on to make another. Maybe not as much stuff on it but felt is was cute. Now I can share the pics with you since she has received it today!!

Welcome to CTMH AP & Artiste Blog Hop. We are a group of CTMH Cosultants who love paper crafting (well most of us) and will be show casing Our Amazing Creations from Art Phylosophy & Artiste along they way.  If you are visiting from Candices's Blog then you are in the right place, if not, please go and start from the beginning at http://wwwpaperkraftsunlimiteddesings.blogspot.com

I am in the Halloween mode so my project is something I can use to give a little treat to someone for Halloween! I used the "Cricut Artiste" cartridge and I cut this at the size shown in the book 11"

Then I decided to make a cute little treat holder so cut this little bat out and then just used a glue dot to hold candy in place. The twine is Black Coffee from Timeless Twine, the sentiment is from My Creative Time for me!

Here are a few things I made previously with the cartridge. I cut this cute little pillow box and then the coffin which I loved. The papers I used was from Hobby Lobby "Me and My ideas" paper stack. WOW do I love this paper stack.

Spooky Timeless Twine project

Hello Again!! Its Debbie with Bugjuiced and I have a couple Chilling projects for you!
Thank you for joining us here for another project with Timeless Twine!
Spooky times!

I don't know about you all but I LOVE HALLOWEEN! I used the Black Coffee & white Timeless Twine for it and it was perfect! Grab you this Halloween Party pack before Halloween so you can make your spooky projects too!

Seems I didn't get as excited about it until i start scrapping! Its my favorite thing to make projects for. I got my new Cricut Artiste cartridge and tried my hand at the coffin and the pillow box. I really didn't have a clue how big to cut them and next time I will size it down. But at tleast you can see them!!

The pillow box I just got cut fit to page. The coffin is 7.5" which is pretty big but it would hold alot of treats and probably the right size for anyone i would want to give a nice Halloween treat too.

I don't remember what size I cut the skeleton because honestly I just messed with it in craft room to see about what size to actually make it cause of course I didn't use CCR to cut it! That would be a miracle in itself if I got that to happen.

The little spiders are from Jolee's sticker set and the tombs I just cut by hand and inked up and put a funny name on them. The Pillow box cuts are from Teresa Collins Chic-n-scary. First time using this cartridge. I ordered it last year before halloween but it didn't come until way after so this year I get to use it.

Hope you get some inspiration from this post and get spooky with it!

Lil' Monster Frame

Today I am on the Timeless Twine blog showing a project I did the other day with the "Happy Hauntings" cartridge. I love this cartridge! My favorite cartridges are Happy Hauntings, Pack Your bags, Campin critters just to name a few. Can't get enough of those! I made the frame on the Happy Hauntings cartridge but left off the outer layer that is a web. I cut this at 6.25" and I knew I wanted to use a pic of our grandkids trick or treating. I cut the little Monsters out from "Bump in the Night" on my imagine so I could fill the images with the colors I wanted. I used solid colors that were on the "Berries & Cream" cartridge.

I purchased some cute peachy keen stamps to use on the faces but didn't end up using them for this cause i cut with my E2 and couldn't hide anything. I tried once again to use Cricut Craft Room but forget about it! I got so frustrated because it wasn't recognizing my cartridge. I don't have patience to mess with something too long so after after 5 tries I used some choice words and just used the machine alone. I have a gypsy too but to be honest I just don't know how to use it well and my eyes don't like the small screen and that is why I was excited about CCR but I tell you I have designed so many things just for fun I guess because it doesn't like my imagine, doesn't recognize my carts in my E2 and I am always crafting after ProvoCraft has closed so no calling them for help.

ANYWHO....The monsters I believe were cut at 2.5". I used several colors of twine that are listed below with links to the store. I actually used several together that matched my colors of my frame. I love the way it turned out and the colors ended up perfect.

Use the links on the colors and visit the store and grab you some yumminess too. Lots of other goodies to pick from too! Thanks for stopping by!

PeachyKeen Anything Goes Challenge

I wanted to enter this project into the PeachyKeen Anything Goes Challenge. I love these faces!!

I wanted to cut something from the Cricut Lite Cart "Fast Foods" because again the Summer Food theme. So I cut out the Corn Dogs and decided to put cute little peachykeen faces from the Cornies set (this is one of my fav's!!) on them. I cut a mustard and ketchup bottle and had the Timeless Twine "Cherry Red & White" as my ketchup & "Lemonade" as my mustard!

I also thought it would be cute to have it squirted on the corn dog so this turned out pretty much like I wanted!

The paper I used for the card base is From My minds eye Good Day Sunshine. I didn't do to much with it because I wanted to focus more on the elements of the card and the twine. The "Party all night" is a Momenta Sticker from "Sassy Sayings"
