Box with a Pow

Today I am on Timeless Twine and I am sharing something I made a while back but I don't think I ever officially posted it. Its a cute little box made with the Cricut Artiste cartridge. I used Cherry Red Twine for a pom pom on top and I think it turned out super cute. Sorry this post is a bit late. I had thought I had something ready and this is not my normal day so I got a bit mixed up!! This month has been all about gifting and packaging so this can be made pretty easily and it makes a really cute gift!

Twine just adds that special pow to a gift! It doesn't cost much to dress up a gift with it either. Browse the store and see how many awesome colors you can find. Made in the USA also!

A Jar full of sweetness

Hi I am on Timeless Twine today showing a treat/packaging project. If your like me you are panicking just a bit right now. I mean did you think we would already be in the "zone" of Christmas already!? Now its like 3 weeks away and I am so not ready. I am a card maker but do you think I got any cards done to send to me friends? Thats a big fat NO 10-4 good buddy....I feel like such a bad bad friend, scrapper, crafter of stuff that just gets displayed or done for a project.

My new years resolution (really I never do the resolution thing but lets give it a whirl) will be to be more prepared for my friends and families birthdays and holidays, get more healthy (this one will be tough) and forget that my skin and body have broken through the levy... it couldn't hold it anymore and said your on your own sister. I feel like the conversation my skin had with my body kinda went like this...in the voice of Scotty from Star Trek saying in that accent "Captain we don't have the power" and then its over.

Maybe it seems over dramatic or superficial to some but it has been a tough few years for me. Health wise I should have buzzards swarming me about right now I think. Menopause has taken a toll on me and definitely my sense of humor. My poor husband doesn't quite want to turn his back on me for not knowing if I am going to smash him in the head with something. Is this too much TMI for you all? But I have to find something to laugh about now.

Did you come here to look at my crafts? Well I guess I better get to the real issue for this post right!

I made these projects for Timeless Twine and it is with several of the products that are available in the store. See there is more than twine in BellaCreationz store. Check out the site and see how many fun things she has that you could make some really cute gifts for your peeps with.

This jar has the Doily & Cherry Red Twine. I used a cut file from Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons and then on the bottom layer I wrapped twine around it also to give it some pop of color through the cut outs. The mittens are also from Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons. I thought the wreath was perfect to place in the center of the doily.

I then used a Gable box from BellaCreationz and make a large bow-ish thing out of Olive Green Twine for the front of my box. I placed a snowflake cutout on it and then used some red stickles just in the center to give it a bit of a pop. Honestly I would have used more stickles but those darn things get clogged up every couple seconds and I got tired of fighting with it! :) I love these gable boxes, truly I do. I put some pattern paper on the front just to dress it up a bit. I also used a red tag from the store and stamped in white ink on the front. I planned on embossing it but my embossing tool (only used a handful of times) burnt up! I had smoke coming out of it!

Thanks for taking the time to visit me!

Christmas Treats & Mindless Rambling

Welp it is almost that time of the year. WOWSER where did this year go and where was I when it happened! I feel like we just celebrated 2013 and its almost time to roll that over again. I am not liking how fast time is going by. I have been noticing lately a few wrinkles on my face and I am pretty darn worried about that to say the least.

I never worried about that because I have always looked younger (per everyone...or was they just jerking my chain?) and so therefore didn't think about it too much. When I turned 50 I was severely depressed. I could hardly utter the words and hated when there was a reason I had to put that on a form or say it out loud. So now that number has notched up another year (I WILL NOT SAY IT) I am noticing more changes than I care to admit.

Seems it happens over night. I always said I wouldn't be one of those people who had plastic surgery. Well I think I judged that too quickly! ha ha. My eyelids are fat and cover my whole lid area (hereditary they tell me...Thank you mother!) and insurance will pay to fix it but it has to be covering more than half of your eye and your using a stick to feel your way around I guess to cover it. So I guess until I look like a basset hound or have to use clothes pins to hold these puppies up I am S-O-L.

By then I will have a list of things I want "fixed". Maybe I should get started on a kickstarter campaign for that huh?

Ok now sorry to have mindless rambling but who else am I gonna talk to. I just thought I would share some random, menial things with you about my life.

So now on to the crafty business here....

I used alot of items from BellaCreationz to make some little gifts. Just to show you a few things you can get to make just a little thank you or a stocking stuffer etc. I used mainly the Christmas colors of twine but you will see one of them I used pumpkin orange and aqua!

The Christmas papers had alot of those brighter colors in it and it went perfect with the paper. Here are my projects and I will reference all the supplies at the bottom of this post.  Thanks for stopping by!

(I made this little treat holder in my silhouette program. If anyone would like
a copy of it I am happy to share just drop me a line!)

Crazy Critters

I wanted to do a quick post to share a card I made today. I used images from the silhouette store for the critters and the film strip. I used a Cosmo Cricket Digital paper set from Jessicasprague.com called "Mr Campy" and popped the heads of my critters up on each of the photostrip areas. My pic is not the greatest we have some major gloomy weather here and it seems when I use my photobox I can't get the light just right and it looks too gray. Got to figure that out! I used my favorite Timeless Twine in Chocolate Chip to just give it a finish!

Crafty Gift

Hey Hey Hey I am on Timeless Twine blog today showing my little project. Here are the deets! :)

I made a little gift box with a window in it to showcase the gifts inside. I placed two spools of twine in the box and some goodies from Bella Creationz (tags, wooden spoons, wooden buttons) as a nice gift for a crafty friend. The little card is a gift card, the tree pulls out. I put some stickles on the star and used some enamel dots on it to dress it up a bit. I made a pom pom out of the Cherry Red twine. Then I braided the Cherry Red and the Olive Green twine to make a nice thick braid I used 6 strands. I used it to hang my tag with and also to create a scarf for my little snowman.

The tag and wooden button are from Bella Creationz store. I embossed the tag with a Cuttlebug embossing folder called "Sledding" then I inked over it with my favorite Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink...can you ever have enough vintage photo ink....I think not!

Speaking of Tim Holtz don't you just want to squeeze him! Handsome AND crafty...man what a combo. The gift card is a file from Silhouette and so is the snowman.

I used some Chocolate Chip twine to tie on the button and of course inked the button up with you know what...I won't say it again!

The accent paper is from Jessicasprague.com and it is Carta Bella's "So this is Christmas"
You really got to check out that site you can get so many awesome digital papers and embellies.

Thanks for stopping by!

Room Makeover

Its been a long time since I have posted regularly. We were busy moving (For the LAST time) and busy remodeling. We purchased a smaller place almost half the size of anything else we have lived in because we have come to realize we do not need to continue living in such a large place wasting money on heat etc. when it is just the two of us. Maybe we both came to the realization that we were obviously avoiding before that we are "older","retired" people.

So now we live in a smaller brick house that is a retirement house for us. It was hard to squeeze my large oversized furniture into a small place but honestly it fit better than I had thought it would except for the bedroom. I love my bed and I always said if it is the only thing that will fit and I have to jump in the bed from the door I will do it. Well its not quite that bad but its very close ha ha.

I wanted to show some before and after pictures of the progress we have made of my craft room. Its not completely done yet but it is pretty darn close. I am loving this room. It is full of light all day with the 3 windows in it and its just very comfortable and I stay in it whether I am crafting or not pretty much all day!

Here is a before (realtor pictures) CLICK ON PICS TO SEE LARGER

Here is the after (took at night so lights are glary sorry)

I really love it!! I just got all the ikea furniture in the past few days so it is really coming together!
Thanks for looking at my room! More organization to come!

Spooky business

Its my day on Timeless Twine and I made 3 spooky projects. We are going to our grandkids house for halloween so I am making some little gifts to take. I am going to make dipped pretzels the real long ones to put into this tall skeleton bag. I don't have them done yet cause I want them to be as fresh as possible before we go, although when you read this I will be getting ready to leave.

I made a tall treat bag for both the bags its the same one I just opted to fold the one over and punch holes in it and tie it a bit differently. I used Tuxedo Black on that one. On the skeleton bag I used Tuxedo Black and Graphite Gray twine. I braided some of the Graphine Gray and Tuxedo Black twine to make handles for the bag. The tags are also Silhouette files. The skeleton is put together with brads and he is moveable! How fun right! Then I put a hole in his noggin and tied some more twine to have him hang. I would have liked to create a noose and put it around his neck if his neck would have had the flexibility in it....hmmmm modification is what I am hearing here. I wish I would have had time.

I was feverishly working on these projects because my first DT project for Jessica Sprague was due the day before this project and I hadn't been able to craft much in the past few weeks because we were remodeling the area my craft room is in and several rooms connecting. So it didn't leave me much time.
I love the way they came out though. The card is also a silhouette file. I added just a pop of the Olive green twine and curled it to just be that pop of the pumpkins vine.

I hope you like the project and stop by the store to see all the goodies you can get to create some awesome treat bags. Right now Stacy has the cutest ice cream cups that I think would look adorable filled with candy and a cellophane bag over it all and tied with some Timeless Twine and a cute tag!
Here is a link to the store to see all the goodies  "STORE"

Monster Mash Up

Well....long time no talkie! I have been so busy with so many things that I have neglected my poor little blog. I also have been sick for weeks with a nasty sinus infection that still hasn't gone away completely but life goes on.

We moved a few months ago and have been remodeling our little old house and so as I am writing this my craft room is being ripped out from underneath me. We are getting new flooring Friday so I get some new floors in my craft room, kitchen and dining room so I am super excited. Then my hubs is taking me on a much needed Ikea trip to buy me an expedit workstation unit and another desk to make my room look better. I have a nice desk but the other tables are just those cheap plastic folding tables but they have been such a nice space to work in and I did abuse them a bit on the tops because I knew it didn't matter if I stained them etc. Now I will have nicer stuff I will not be able to do that...well I will try not to do that.

I still have so many things on my list to buy a new wide format printer, and a couple new desk chairs. Mine is getting all ripped up and worn and it has had several years of my big butt to wear it down too so that will come soon. Ok enough of my babbling but just wanted to catch you up for why I have been away.

Today is my day on Timeless Twine and I used all my stamps for the images on my card just to show my stamps. This card is humongo because my images are not small. I hate to buy stamps that the images are so small you can't paper piece easy or color. Now that being said I do not have copics or any kind of markers I only have watercolor pencils and I am NOT at all someone who enjoys coloring images so that is my disclaimer. I know alot of you would have done an awesome job....me...ah it is what it is.

I used the Olive Green and Purple Passion twine to wrap down the creases of the card. I cut out just a little jagged flag for my sentiment (also my stamp)

Stop by the store Stacy got some really cute new items to make some awesome treat bags, containers etc. Check out the cute little ice cream treat cups. This would make an awesome gift if you put some candy in a treat bag and then put it in the ice cream treat cup or candy in the cup and a bag to cover it all with some great colored twine to tie it together! WOW so many possibilities!
