Watermelon plans

Plannerd post for Timeless Twine

I was to post that on Sunday but decided to wait until today. I want to work on some stickers and a clip to make my page layout.

Its all about watermelon's today. The clips turned out cute and I love the pages. I used the new weekend plans stamp set as well as plan to be fitplannerd sets. Bella Creationz has so many fun stamp sets and even if they are not "planner" stamps you can utilize just about any of the stamps for your planner. I like to use the little sets like Hello Summer etc. too.

Sending some sunshine

Today I am on Timeless Twine and I wanted to knock out a few clips and it was my time to post so I thought I would create a cute little pocket to add a clip in. We were to use the "Hello Summer" stamp set and Raspberry Twine so it was perfect to make the sun clip I needed to make and make this cute little pouch to send it in.

I love this!! I am so going to make more of these little pouches to send a few special clips out to friends. The sun is from Cricut Create a Critter. I NEVER use my cricut but I wanted a sun and this was a cute one so I changed up my normal routine of using my silhouette.

I created the little pouch by just shapes. I know there are dies out there just like this but I don't really buy many dies because most anything I want can be made on the silhouette. I made a extra layer for an accent piece. Punched a hole in the top and added the twine and it was a simple quick little project.

DIY Your drawers!

I am on Limelife Planners today!! Here is my post with an easy DIY for you!

Got messy drawers? Ha ha I couldn't help myself on that one! I have some Alex drawers from Ikea that I love but no matter how much I try to keep them organized or in neat piles the things in them get tossed around with the opening and closing of the drawers or tossing things back in and planning to go back later and tidy them up!

Solution...DIY your own drawer dividers!! With some foam board and a exact knife and a little hot glue we got ourselves a PAARTAY!

First I looked at my drawers which are typically pretty tidy and the neatly stacked piles do not stay that way when I am frantically opening and closing them in the fury that happens in my craft room.

I am not just a planner gal, I am a crafter so I have all sorts of crafting supplies as well as planning supplies. My planning supplies are not as plentiful as my crafting supplies because I am a newbie with planning (at least the serious planning aka decorating!)

My love for washi tape has really grown and I am now totally obsessed with finding all the pretty washi I can buy (hoard). So that was my utmost important task was having it front and center so I can (cough cough) use it. I measured my overall width and depth of the drawer and then set out to figure what items were important enough to designate a whole divided section in my drawers. So for drawer #1 it was washi and plenty of space for growing. I did a few other drawers with project if cards, large sticky note pads, stamps, page flags and smaller sticky notes.

I figured out the size everything needed to be and just sketched a rough draft of how I was laying it out. It changed once from my original vision because I realized the drawer I planned on having washi in was much deeper so I moved it to a more shallow drawer.

(That is husbands hairy arm NOT mine!)

I bought several sheets of foam board at the dollar store and cut all the pieces I needed and made sure the height would not be taller than the drawer sides. I marked everything on the foam board and cut with the exacto knife. The good thing is if you mess up foam board is super cheap. I then cut some support pieces to put in between the rows. I just hot glued them in place. I have a high heat glue gun and trust me those pieces aren't going anywhere! You can choose to cut some slits in the pieces to put together in a criss cross manner also.

My husband decided he wanted to help and honestly it took us twice as long to get one drawer done as it did when i worked alone. I mean seriously he mentioned power tools and I thought I was going to die laughing. His idea of what needed to happen was so different than my plan. So I was happy that he decided after the first drawer to partake in a beverage outside so I could take over the project. I managed to do two drawers quickly with Mr. Bossy pants out of the picture.

So hopefully you at least see that with a few dollars and a husband that will leave you alone with your project, a few tools and you can also make your drawers much neater!

Fun in the sun

Today I decided I need to make something just fun. My granddaughters birthday is coming up and we booked a beach house in Gulf shores and they are all coming and meeting us there. It happens to be during her birthday so she really thinks she is special and that the trip is all for her!

I thought a fun little card for her birthday that is also summer related would be cute. I used a minion file from SVGcuttingfiles to accomplish that!

We had a photo to use as inspiration which I will show below so going off all those bold colors I thought this would capture several of them. I used "Simply Black" twine to create some hair. I just pulled the twine apart to give it a string like texture. It was great because it also created a curvy wave to the hair from it being braided together before.

The sentiment is from the "Hello Summer" stamp set that Bella Creationz has. Its perfect for this card with the playful minion.

I used some glossy accents on the eyes to give it some dimension and interest and I also used wink of stella all over the bathing suit top and skirt. I love that stuff. Can't capture it great in a photo but it looks great in person.

I tied a knot in the Aqua and Pumpkin orange and let it flow and adhered each piece using scotch quick dry. I use a special bottle and a fine tip for all my paper piecing and its great for putting down twine like this.

Used a little foam to pup it all off the card. Products will be shown and links are all above!
