Quick Christmas Gift bag

Today I am on the Timeless Twine blog and I again am running low on time. We have had alot going on at our house this week. New carpets went in and we had to move 3 bedrooms and a large living room full of carpet and to save money we ripped up the old ones also so it was a total of 5 days work for us to do that and move the furniture back in. Then the holidays in which I hosted so I had loads of cooking to do and just when I thought I could relax the hubs tells me we need to bathe and groom the dogs so that was a 3+ hours of work right there. NOW I think I can maybe take a small breather before we prepare to go on a trip to Las Vegas.

So I made this really quick and simple gift bag. I bought these gold and silver foiled papers at Michaels and I love them and they were all 70% off. I should have bought more of them. The quality of the paper is quite nice and I love its so blingy!

This silver was so pretty with the almost charcoal grey looking background that I knew I would use a non traditional color of twine on it cause the black just makes it look that much more elegant.

I used the solid black twine and popped a few jingle bells on them. I cut the little shaped tag from the silhouette store and since the paper is slick I used Staz On to make sure there would be no smearing. Some inks never dry well when on slick paper so this was the best ink to use.

I love this new Holiday sentiment set from Bella Creationz. I hope she does more of these big brush type scripts cause they are really nice. Stop over and grab the set you will not regret it.

The bag was a cut file from Svgcuttingfiles.com

Planning for the Holidays

Debbie here from Craftin' Chaos I hope this post finds you all ready to gear up for the holidays. Holidays are pretty stressful to me and I am sure they are for most people. So planning ahead for all of the tasks and shopping that needs to be done can help eliminate alot of that stress. I am going to share some planning items that help me make it a much less stressful time for me. I will also share a few of my favorite products that I use and how these items can help you in everyday life not just to plan for an upcoming holiday.

First off since Thanksgiving is coming up I want to share menu planning with you. This is something I do all the time not just for holidays and it makes my life my easier and my husband loves to see what is on the menu so I work on about two weeks minimum at a time. I first plan what I am having for the two weeks and then looking day to day at the items on the menu plan my shopping list. This makes it less overwhelming if you just concentrate on each day as a whole.

I typically make a penciled in categories of how my items are in the store. Such as "Dairy" "Produce" "Meat" etc. then each day I look at what I plan to have and start penciling in what items I need to make that meal. We are simple folk and we like simple foods so it is pretty easy for me. Plus I am one of those cooks that throws this and that in and it works! I am magical in the kitchen ha ha! I am an odd bird probably cause I do love to cook and brace yourself but I do love to grocery shop. I even menu plan and shop for my grown daughter to help since her life is so busy.

I think the key to a good cook is loving to cook and I do so it just seems to go pretty easy. Although I seem to have trouble with the simplest things such as making macaroni and cheese. I have boiled it over 3 times! I blame it on my new stove. I have not grown to love it still.

So here is a look at my Limelife planner that I had a "menu planning" section added on.

Another view from a past menu planning session

Once I have planned my 2 weeks of meals I transfer the info to a dry erase white board I keep in the kitchen and so hubs can see what yummies he has coming up! He loves this! (This is an old pic as you can see its NOT April! :)

So you can see this can be a handy tool even if you would like to keep track of what you spend you can mark it at the bottom of the page each week.

Then I also have a Task Pad and it has M-F on it and for the holidays I used it a bit differently which you can see but it worked for the tasks I had to do because i was using it for a span of more than a week. But you can see how this pad can be a handy dandy tool for each week to write down your tasks to do and what day you will accomplish it or if you did.

Here is a start to my holiday decorating for the week of Christmas. It is not finished but you can see the cuteness starting. I printed off some bucket list stickers to put on for each day and I also utilized the stickers from Dec Brimbles box as well as that beautiful planner charm and sticky notes.

Now again I wanted to share my planner layout. This is just one of the planners I use it is a Limelife planner. I love this layout especially for me cause I have 6 items I can mark along the left side to designate for specific task, like my shop, home, to do and more. This would work wonders for a family because unless you have more than 6 in your family each person can have their name in the box and you can have a whole week that you can write across for things to do or specifically for that one person. For a busy mother that is a great asset. If I had children at home this would be a handy tool. I have the inserts for my A5 and I also have the spiral bound in the same layout. They offer several layouts but this one I think is the best for someone that either has family to plan throughout the week for or a shop and a busy life like mine.

So basically this is a post about how not only is planning fun for decorating and getting your creativity in but you can also use it to your advantage and help to keep your meal planning, holiday purchasing so much easier. If you are handy you can create a holiday shopping page, black friday pages etc. I hope you found this information somewhat helpful

I am on Timeless Twine/Bella Creationz today and sharing a new stamp set by Bella Creationz.
I used some fun dies I got from Top dog dies to add the penguins and then used a pop of Cherry Red Twine to attach the flag sentiment. I love these sentiments and the font that was used! My new obsession is Tulle too (where has it been all my life?? I am sure it is a phase.

Quick projects for the busy schedule

Today I am on Cardz TV and to be honest I have had so much going on lately I am stretched a little thin so I wanted to make some projects that were quick but yet cute. My new obsession is gold and silver foiled papers, glitter papers also and TULLE! Where have you been all my life?
I cut two sacks from a silhouette file I had and just made one larger. I love this file. It is super easy to put together and makes those cute sack jagged tops on them (that was so technical on the term right?)
This paper was like a hot buy from Michaels and I bought two stacks of everything I found and they are so pretty. Lots of designs and lots of gold, silver and sparkle. The sentiments on the sacks are from the new stamp set Mary has called "Naughty or Nice"   I love these!

I used DCWV glitter paper (nice and smooth!) and cut out the heart this sentiment for the card
bottom. It cut very nice and you can see a close up below. Then I used the sentiment from

Top Dog Dies Guest Designing

I am so grateful for the opportunity to guest design again for Top Dog Dies. I am using 3 different sets of dies. I was so excited to be asked to do this again for them. For this first set of projects I used the die set TC144 Penguin die set.
This set is so adorable and was fun to use. I made a little shaker speech bubble frame tag with it. I used various colors of sequins, white, silver and a splash of light blue. The backing is silver foil paper from DCWV. The sentiment is from Cardz TV called Naughty or Nice. I thought it was cute and made the project fun.

This project is a lollipop treat holder. I used some more foil papers I picked up at Michaels. I didn't have a lollipop handy cause I hadn't been feeling well and hadn't gotten back out so I just popped a white jelly pen in it for visual. I used some black Tulle (I wanted to get some red but just wasn't dragging myself out. But the black creates a nice pop against the paper .

For this next one I just used a We R Memory keepers envelope punch board and made a small gift card envelope with it. I put a starbucks gift card in it and it fits perfectly. I used some red and silver ribbon I had and the sentiment is from My Craft Spots tiny tags stamp set.
This card below I used the die set TC143 Polar Bear Die set. I wanted to make it look like a "Forever" stamp so I cut out a stamp shape on my Cameo and added the "Furever" as a play on the forever stamp. Used a really pretty light blue glitter paper for the background and the pop of red for the base. Some clear sequins and the snowflakes made it a nice finish.

For the snowy landscape I used the die set TC113 Water die set. Love the stitching on the dies and they always cut so perfectly!

Last project I did this card with some beautiful gold foil paper. I didn't want to add a sentiment cause the papers were so pretty I wanted them to be the focal point. I used the water die set to create some different cuts and then used some gold glitter paper underneath to accent the cuts. I added a pretty snowflake charm and a simple white ribbon.

Thank you Top Dog Dies for giving me another opportunity to design with your great product. I had fun with them. Don't forget to stop over to their site and do some shopping. Lots of great dies to choose from!
